Rafa Benitez has seemingly ruled out Napoli making a January bid for Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli.

The Italy international only moved over to Anfield in the summer, but has been linked with a return to Italy and a move to Naples come the winter market, for his difficulties experienced so far during his second spell in England.

However, in a conversation with the Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Vesuviani’s Coach has made clear to the contrary.

However, in a conversation with the Gazzetta dello Sport today, the Vesuviani’s Coach has made clear to the contrary.

“Liverpool fans are loyal – if he works in the field then they will support him,” Benitez reflected of his old club.

“Mario coming to us in January though? There is absolutely nothing to this, it is just a hypothesis that I have never considered.”
