Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi believes that Alessandro Del Piero will return to Juventus one day.

Del Piero left the Old Lady in 2012 after over 700 appearances for the Bianconeri in which he became the club’s all-time record goalscorer.

Tacchinardi, who played alongside Del Piero for the Turin club, admits it’s sad to see his former colleague away from Juventus, but believes Pinturicchio will return sooner or later.

“I don’t know the dynamics, but something happened [between Del Piero and Juve],” Tacchinardi told Calciomercato.

“I’ll just say one thing – it’s not nice to see Juventus without Del Piero or Milan without [Paolo] Maldini.

“But I also believe that sooner or later common sense will prevail and Del Piero will be back at Juventus.

“He’s so closely tied to Juventus, the fans love him, and I don’t see why he shouldn't be involved with the club in the future, in some other role.

“At least, that’s what I’m hoping for.”
