Andrej Kramaric says that he would like to play for either Milan or Inter in the near future, as he looks ahead to Croatia’s clash with Italy.

The 23-year-old striker is increasingly being linked with a switch to Serie A in the coming months, as his contract with Rijeka expires next June.

Both Milan and Inter are believed to be interested in acquiring his services and the forward has admitted that the prospect of playing at San Siro appeals.

“As football is my life, it would be great one day to play with one of the two Milanese clubs,” Kramaric told MilanNews.it today.

“It would be great to follow my compatriots’ footsteps – people like Zvonimir Boban, Alen Boksic, Robert Jarni and Milan Rapaic have all left their mark in Italy. And also Mateo Kovacic is doing very well at Inter.

“Pippo Inzaghi has been a great player and not many had the same instinct for goal that he had – a real benchmark for a striker.

“My first memories of Inzaghi date back to when he was at Juventus but he only became a legend at Milan.

“Me, I’d like to play in an offensive-minded team, because that would suit my style best. I am not one of those players who wait for the ball, but rather a striker who likes to take part in the team’s game.

“Generally speaking though, I don’t really focus too much on what the papers say. At the moment, I intend to remain focused on Rijeka’s targets for this season as we are playing well in the League and we are still on course to qualify to the next round in the Europa League.

“It’s true, my contract expires in June, but I am not in any rush to leave because I am living the best moment of my career.

“The city, the fans and the club have welcomed me like I was born in Rijeka and this is wonderful for me.”

Finally, Kramaric was asked an opinion about the game on Sunday between Italy and Croatia, where he might take to the San Siro pitch.

“I think Italy are one of the strongest sides in the world and they are favourites, there’s no doubt about that.

“But for us it will be a great challenge and a great opportunity to check who’s feeling better at the moment. In any case, we’ll give our best to achieve a positive result.

“We have never lost against Italy if I remember well so I hope that our positive tradition can continue and we can either draw or win on Sunday.”
