The Coach's position has looked increasingly untenable in recent weeks following a series of poor performances, and Sunday’s 2-2 Serie A draw with Verona at the Giuseppe Meazza appeared to be the final straw.
The sports news channel claimed that a meeting between the current and former Presidents in Milan’s city centre took place today, and amongst their conversation topics was the fate of Mazzarri.
However, Thohir reportedly maintained his faith in Mazzarri’s ability to turn Inter’s fortunes around, and the former Napoli boss may yet have a shot at redemption in their next match, the Derby della Madonnina against Milan in two weeks' time.
