PAOK Coach Angelos Anastasiadis thanked “the Virgin Mary” for their 1-1 Europa League draw with Fiorentina.

The Greek side was under siege with numerous shots on target, but had in fact taken the lead at the Stadio Franchi.

“Today it was a poor first half performance, totally without discipline. Only the Virgin Mary could help us avoid conceding a goal in that first half,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

“After the break Fiorentina didn’t create as many problems, but following our goal we made banal errors that are simply unacceptable.

“The positive aspects from this evening are that we are still alive in Europe. The lads can and must do much more. I have to convince them of that and if I can’t then it’ll be my fault.

“We must forget this as soon as possible and concentrate on Sunday’s match with Panathinaikos.”
