Bayern Munich defender Mehdi Benatia does not believe there is a crisis at Roma, despite the Giallorossi losing two games in a row.

The former Roma defender spoke after his new club defeated the Lupi 2-0 in the Champions League, condemning his former side to a second defeat in a week, following their loss to Napoli in Serie A.

It is also an extension of form that has yielded just two wins from the last eight in all competitions.

“Are Roma in trouble?” Benatia pondered to Sky Sport Italia after yesterday’s match at the Allianz Arena.

“I can’t repeat what I said to my former teammates, and certainly they’ve had easier times.

“But I know the team, and I know the group and the players, they have character, the desire to win, to do well.

“They’re still in the hunt, I don’t see where this ‘crisis’ is. They lost to Bayern, but I don’t see problems.

“Roma are strong, and always will be.”
