Hellas Verona defender Frederik Sorensen faces up to six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury sustained this week.

The 22-year-old Dane was forced off during the second half of his side’s eventual 1-1 draw at Cesena on Monday evening after landing awkwardly on his leg.

His club have today confirmed that he has suffered a strain to his lateral collateral ligament, an injury to his popliteal tendon and also to his biceps femoris – hamstring.

It’s estimated that the Juventus-owned player will be out for between four and six weeks, and will likely make his come back shortly before the winter break.

Some good news for Andrea Mandorlini, however, did come today in the form of Rafael Marques Pinto, who is now back in contention for the next game, Sunday’s trip to Inter.

But midfielder Panagiotis Tachtsidis, who has been suspended after being handed a yellow card in Cesena, won’t be available to face the Nerazzurri.
