Francesco Totti says Roma have put their 7-1 thumping at the hands of Bayern Munich behind them.

The Giallorossi face a rematch with the German champions in Munich tonight, in the fourth matchday of the Champions League group stage.

However, Totti doesn’t think the defeat two weeks ago is representative of the two sides’ respective abilities.

“That [the 7-1] was a game unto itself unfortunately,” Totti has reflected today to Sky Deutschland.

“It was different from all the others. We’ve definitely put that behind us, and we no longer think about that game.

“We’re focused on a different challenge at the Allianz Arena.”

Totti also reflected on his loyalty to Roma, a commitment which has seen him play over 700 games for the Giallorossi in all competitions.

“When I made the decision [to stay] it came from my heart.

“The years pass, and unfortunately everything must end, but I must remember that these are my last few seasons as a player, and live with passion. That’s the most important thing.

“Of course I’ll stay in the American project [of James Pallotta], the Roma project.”
