Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben is impressed that Roma “are not a typically-defensive Italian team.”

That approach did lead to a 7-1 defeat at the Olimpico, but Pep Guardiola also noted he admires the way Rudi Garcia sets out his squad.

“I think tomorrow will be a very different game and we know it’s going to be difficult,” said Robben in a Press conference.

“It was a great night for us in Rome, but things like that happen once in a lifetime, so we mustn’t expect a similar result tomorrow. We need to put in our best performance if we want to win.

“Roma have their own philosophy and are not a typically-defensive Italian team. They have quality and want to impose their football on opponents. They might change some details, but it remains the same general approach.”

Bayern Munich took on an unexpected tactic in Rome and this appears to be becoming more of a Pep Guardiola-style team this season.

“We’d only started working together last year, so there is a process of adaptation. We’ve made progress and are on the right track to do even better. We like hearing that we play with his philosophy and it’s working.

“I really enjoy playing with my teammates, I feel good physically and can enjoy my football. I am also at a club with fantastic doctors and physiotherapists.”
