David Alaba and Juan Bernat both reckon that a completely different game will unfold when Bayern Munich take on Roma on Wednesday night.

The Bavarians took the Olimpico by storm a fortnight ago and registered the worst ever defeat at home in Europe for an Italian team, defeating the Giallorossi 7-1.

However, Pep Guardiola’s men expect a different game at the Allianz Arena in two days’ time.

A win for Bayern Munich would guarantee qualification to the knock-out phase and ensure top spot in Group E.

“The second leg against Roma will be totally different from the first leg,” Bernat said today.

“It will be difficult and tight.”

Alaba agreed: “It won’t be as easy as in the game in Rome. That game was perfect on our side, a crazy game.

“But now everything starts from zero once again. It will be a difficult and competitive match.

“I don’t think they will be fearful. Of course they will respect us, but we’ll also respect them.

“Roma will come here to take some points. They have players who can decide the game single-handedly.

“In terms of where we are today, I think that we are ambitious and hungry and this makes our path intriguing.”
