Eusebio Di Francesco was pleased to see Sassuolo notch up a second consecutive victory against Empoli.

“I think we saw a real football game tonight,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-1 result.

“Neither team was in a good position in the table, but we both played well. We did not deserve to be a goal down at the break and I would’ve preferred more applause from the stands at half-time.

“In the second half with the tempo higher we became devastating. We are giving a sense of consistency to our results, as the team plays well and finally the results are arriving.”

As with last season, conceding seven goals against Inter proved to be a turning point for Sassuolo.

“The defeat to Inter really helped us a great deal. If you play with three strikers, you are bound to create chances and also run some risks.

“Missiroli had been out because he wasn’t fit and he knew that, but he is decisive. He can play in many different roles and today did very well along with Taider and Magnanelli. They put in vertical passes and attack the goal.”
