Cagliari host Milan in front of a full house for the first time in two years and Zdenek Zeman wants to deliver some joy to Sardinians.

“I hope and think that the fans will help us,” Zeman told the Press during his pre-match conference today.

“Until now, supporters have always been on our side but we haven’t taken advantage of this so far.”

Even so, the Czech Coach has nothing but praise for the visiting Rossoneri.

“In attack Milan can boast important players like [Jeremy] Menez, [Fernando] Torres and [Stephan] El Shaarawy, but also in midfield they have people like [Nigel] de Jong who always defends well.

“Inzaghi is a good guy, he is willing to work well and I am sure that he will obtain good results. Hopefully from Thursday onwards.”

Zeman hopes his team is ready to step up a notch after lowering their intensity on Saturday.

“I hope that the team will want to play this game face to face. We’ll have to run faster than them and play more than them, that’s for sure.

“In Empoli for instance, after scoring four goals in the first half, we just sat back with what we had in the second.

“And that’s not our style of football. The players have rested already in the second 45 minutes, so I won’t rest anyone tomorrow.”

Finally, Zeman was once again drawn to comment upon his former team Roma, who he recently suggested were boring to watch.

“Roma are the team that play the best football in Italy, but I think that they keep the ball too much.

“They could deploy their fast players better. But this is only my opinion, I don’t want to criticice anyone.”
