Roma Coach Rudi Garcia has thrown down the gauntlet to his players, declaring that only a win over Cesena will be acceptable.

The Giallorossi are on a run of only one win in their last five games in all competitions, including a 7-1 mauling at the hands of German champions Bayern Munich.

The Lupi return to the Olimpico for the first time since that infamous defeat tomorrow night, and their Coach is clear that only a win will do.

The Lupi return to the Olimpico for the first time since that infamous defeat tomorrow night, and their Coach is clear that only a win will do.

“We need to return to winning ways in the League,” admitted Garcia in his pre-match Press conference.

“Sometimes when you’re playing away from home a draw can be a good result, but tomorrow we’re in front of our own fans.

“With all due respect to Cesena, we have to win tomorrow.

“There are no distractions [ahead of facing Napoli at the weekend and then Bayern again]. We are focused on this game because the next game is always the most important.”

The French Coach also admitted that football has a role to play during a period of economic uncertainty in Italy.

“That’s the way it’s always been. Fans come to the stadium to have fun. Life outside [of football] is complex, not just in Italy.

“We strive to give a high level of performance, because many of them have to save up to come to the stadium.

“We have a responsibility to make sure that for at least an hour-and-a-half of football they can have a party and be entertained by the game, because they’re the ones paying for it.”
