Fiorentina and goalkeeper Neto are further away from agreeing a new contract, according to the latest reports.

The Brazilian’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has been linked with a number of big clubs including Juventus, although the shot-stopper says he’d never betray Viola fans by joining the Bianconeri.

According to Corriere Fiorentino, the 25-year-old was unable to agree a new contract in the summer, asking for €1m per season, whilst the club were unwilling to exceed €900,000 per season.

However, to the Florentine newspaper, the two parties are now even further apart, with Neto seeking at least €1.5m per season to stay in Florence.

Having previously been considered a bit of a liability, Neto has established himself as Viola No 1 last season with a string of impressive performances.
