Samir Handanovic admits criticism of Inter is “normal” after two straight defeats, but trusts they’ll be revived with Napoli.

“Lately we have lost something in terms of solidity and in football nothing is a coincidence,” the goalkeeper told Sky Sport Italia.

Samir Handanovic admits criticism of Inter is “normal” after two straight defeats, but trusts they’ll be revived with Napoli.

“Lately we have lost something in terms of solidity and in football nothing is a coincidence,” the goalkeeper told Sky Sport Italia.

“Once we rediscover that, we will get back to our level. We had a negative period, but we go forward, there’s a long way to go yet and there are times in which things don’t go your way.

“When you don’t win, it is normal to be criticised, but the group still needs to gel. With the squad at our disposal, we are not inferior to those fighting for third place and there’s time to catch up.

“Napoli are strong in attack, like many teams in Serie A, but the important thing is what we do. It will take some time to get Inter back on track, but I feel ready, mature, fired up and part of a big club.”

The internationals week was dominated by the abandoned Serbia-Albania match, which descended into a riot.

“It’s not the first time that this sort of thing has happened in the Balkans,” said Slovenia international Handanovic.

“People do not control their emotions and certain people have nothing to lose. The biggest mistake was putting these two teams, these two nations, in the same qualifying group for Euro 2016.”
