Rabiot is out of contract in June and Paris Saint-Germain are therefore eager to sell in January.

Arsenal and Inter have shown a lot of interest in the 19-year-old midfielder, but Roma appear to be leading this race.

According to LaRoma24.it and La Gazzetta dello Sport, Rabiot’s lawyer met with Frederic Massara – director of sport Walter Sabatini’s right hand man – at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Rome.

It’s believed the lawyer and another member of Rabiot’s entourage will meet with Massara and Sabatini for dinner this evening.

A deal could well be struck for €4m plus performance-related bonuses.

In refusing to wait until he is a free agent, Roma would also be able to keep their rapport with PSG on good terms in case of future negotiations.
