Handed an initial recovery date of one month, expectation has been that the 32-year-old will be ready in time for Milan’s first match back from the international break, at Verona in Week 7.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport today report that the Rossoneri are considering holding off on playing the goalkeeper.

Assessments during next week will apparently be key to determining the full status of Lopez’s recovery and only from there will a final decision be taken.

However, it is speculated that Milan may opt to hold faith with Christian Abbiati for the trip to the Bentegodi and turn to Lopez from Week 8’s home clash with Fiorentina the following week.
