Milan are reportedly optimistic that Jeremy Menez should be back from injury in time for the club’s first fixture after the international break.

The Rossoneri yesterday confirmed that the 27-year-old had suffered a strain to the adductor longus muscle – groin – in his right leg.

Whilst no further details were issued on this, beyond confirming further tests are due in the coming days, indications from the Gazzetta dello Sport are that it is nothing too serious.

The newspaper believes that Menez will face another examination at the start of next week and that if things goes well, he can return to training with the rest of his Milan teammates.

It is understood that at Milanello there is optimism the player can still recover fully in time to remain in contention for Week 7’s trip to Verona.

Should Menez not be able to start against the Gialloblu, speculation is that Stephan El Shaarawy is the man most likely to step in.
