Manolo Gabbiadini has lifted the lid on Sinisa Mihajlovic’s managerial technique at Sampdoria and admits he is targeting a place with Italy.

The striker has been in good form for the Blucerchiati this season so far, contributing three goals to their unbeaten start which has them spending the October international break in third place.

Gabbiadini has today considered the impact his Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has had on matters.

“He wants us to be more competitively nasty. And I know I should read moments and situations in the penalty area better,” the 22-year-old has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Tactically, he is very prepared. He is pick, he knows how to pick us up, there is empathy. He explains to us that without the right mindset we are going nowhere.

“He demands great attention and motivates us every now and again like this: ‘If you want another day off, you only need to win – go and get it’. It usually works.

“And President Massimo Ferraro? He is a hard worker. He is very attached to Sampdoria, he drags us with his enthusiasm. Characters like him are good for football.”

Gabbiadini is seen as with an outside chance of breaking into Antonio Conte’s Italy squad, alongside a handful of Samp teammates.

“It would be beautiful. I had hoped already to be present for these two games. But everything goes on what I can do with Sampdoria.

“There are so many other good strikers. In a month, when the next squad is called, I’d really like to be there – it is an objective.”
