Erick Thohir reportedly held an emergency summit with Walter Mazzarri following yesterday’s 4-1 home defeat to Cagliari.

The Nerazzurri saw Yuto Nagatomo sent off during the first half of Sunday’s match at San Siro with the scores level at 1-1, before a collapse saw them lose 4-1, with all goals coming before the half-time break.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that President Thohir, in attendance as part of his latest visit to Milan, held a meeting post-match with Coach Mazzarri and director general Marco Fassone.

The intent of this meeting was reportedly to better understand what happened against Zdenek Zeman’s side and to also determine the line to take with the media.

Mazzarri commented post-match to reporters that the loss was his fault. Yesterday’s result is seen as having not gone down well with Thohir and that he is expecting a reaction in midweek in the Europa League and then in Week 6 at Fiorentina.
