Rafa Benitez is expected to ring the changes to his Napoli side for their Europa League season debut against Sparta Prague.

The Vesuviani start their group stage campaign on Thursday at home to the Czech Republic outfit in crisis following a difficult start to the season compounded by Sunday’s 1-0 home defeat to Chievo.

From that result, speculation is that Benitez is preparing to make as many as half a dozen changes to his starting XI.

Summer signing David Lopez is seen as in line for a first start in midfield and that it could come alongside Jonathan de Guzman, or Walter Gargano, if one of Gokhan Inler and Jorginho is not kept.

Attack will apparently see Jose Callejon keep his place, but Lorenzo Insigne and Marek Hamsik drop out in place of Michu and Dries Mertens.

Should Gonzalo Higuain not be deemed fit enough to start, then his place up front will go to Duvan Zapata.

Defence is also expected to see Christian Maggio, Raul Albiol and Juan Zuniga all drop out, with Henrique, Miguel Britos and Giandomenico Mesto coming in.

Probable Napoli XI to face Sparta Prague: Rafael; Mesto, Henrique, Koulibaly, Britos; David Lopez, De Guzman; Mertens, Michu, Callejon; Duvan
