Gigi Di Biagio warns Italy face a “tough team” in Slovakia for the Under-21 European Championship play-offs.

The Azzurrini arguably picked the softest of the non-seeded sides in the draw and will play the first leg away on October 8 with the decider on October 14.

“Slovakia are a tough team who run for 90 minutes,” insisted Coach Di Biagio.

“The fact they won their group ahead of the Netherlands says a lot about their quality. A year ago we beat them 4-1, but in many respects that result did not reflect the game, especially as Slovakia went down to 10 men.

“Many things have changed since then and we know these are going to be two complicated challenges.”
