Four people have been arrested in connection with the July kidnap of Segundo Tevez, father of Juventus forward Carlos.

Argentine news agency Telam report that three men and one woman have been arrested in Argentina in connection with the July 29 incident, that saw a ransom paid for the player’s father’s release.

One suspect is a 22-year-old male ‘who has actively participated in the kidnap for ransom’, Telam sources indicate.

A 24-year-old Paraguayan man and his sister, 27, are also reported as having been arrested for alleged involvement, alongside a 26-year-old male, alleged to have provided firearms used during the hijacking.

Segundo Tevez was held captive in a car for eight hours before being released after the ransom had been paid.

Carlos Tevez was set to fly to Argentina before being informed at the airport that his father had been released.
