The Sunderland man was brought back to the Nazionale for tonight’s 2-0 victory over the Netherlands, which was Conte’s debut on the bench.
“Conte was fired up and hungry to win, the same as always,” Giaccherini told Rai Sport.
“The disappointment of the World Cup was huge, so we are all eager and enthusiastic to prove what Italy can do and be proud of this Nazionale.
“We have to ensure what happened at the World Cup doesn’t happen again.”
To what degree can Conte really affect change in the Azzurri?
