Goran Pandev’s agent has hit out at Rafa Benitez for marginalising him, whilst suggesting that Napoli ‘does not have a soul’.

The Macedonian striker and his teammate Blerim Dzemaili both joined Cesare Prandelli at Galatasaray in Turkey on deadline day.

His agent has now taken the opportunity to hit out at the Vesuviani and in particular Coach Rafa Benitez.

“I have heard a long talk from De Laurentiis on behalf of fans who feel sad about the split with Pandev,” Carlo Pallavicino has begun on Radio Crc today.

“I have no reason to believe that President wanted to detach from Pandev, indeed De Laurentiis thought a lot of the player.

“Pandev took a pay-cut to come to play in Naples, a sign of his devotion to the Azzurri and the city.

“Indeed, at the beginning I forced my client a little to come to Napoli, to leave Inter, because I was sure that he would receive warmth and satisfaction at the club.

“With the departure of Mazzarri and the arrival of Benitez, the situation has changed, the new method of play has detracted from Pandev, who has ended up marginalised.

“My client needs to hear the confidence of his Coach and for this reason he has played a little ‘subdued’.

“It is important to do well at Napoli, many foreigners think of it as a stage of transition, but to do well with the Azzurri marks a career, as has been the case with Maradona and others.

“Benitez? I have the impression that he is an extraordinary Coach, but suitable to coach many teams in Europe and not in the Italian League.

“My perception is that Napoli does not have a soul, there is no team spirit that is needed to push on and win.”
