Real Madrid are reportedly making a deadline day bid for either PSG midfielder Marco Verratti or Inter’s Fredy Guarin.

According to Sport Mediaset and some Spanish sources, Carlo Ancelotti has requested Verratti to strengthen his midfield.

It was Ancelotti who helped Verratti develop at Paris Saint-Germain and this is not the first time the Italy international has been linked with a Madrid move.

However, Sky Sport Italia tonight claim that Real Madrid are looking to Inter’s Guarin as an alternative.

Guarin’s negotiations with Valencia have collapsed and he turned down a move to Zenit, but the Colombian would accept the Bernabeu.

It is reported Real Madrid want him on a one-season loan at a cost of €3m, but Inter have so far been determined to release him only with a mandatory clause to buy.
