Chievo Coach Eugenio Corini admits they need to “sort out some tactical issues” after a 1-0 defeat to Juventus.

The Flying Donkeys were fortunate it was only 1-0, as Juve hit the woodwork three times, but Gigi Buffon also needed a great save on Maxi Lopez.

“Juventus had an intensity that made it easier for them and played the way they usually have done over the past three years,” Corini told Sky Sport Italia.

“The Bianconeri are a squad with extraordinary quality. They kept the same system as last season and we suffered in the first half, but when I introduced an extra striker we did better.

“We were able to stick together and stay in the game, trying to score right to the end and had a great chance with Maxi Lopez.

“We need to sort out some tactical issues and our fitness levels must improve, as we’ve changed so much over the summer.”

Corini was sent off in stoppages for kicking the ball back to one of his players just before it had rolled out of play.

“I didn’t think I had gone over the line. I was just trying to speed things up.”

Ivan Radovanovic was stretchered off with an ice pack on his head after an accidental clash with teammate Dario Dainelli.

“The lad wanted to carry on, but after a few minutes he felt dizzy. He was conscious when he went off on the stretcher and we hope it isn’t too serious.”
