Torres is expected to touch down at the airport at 12.00 Italian time (11.00 in the UK) to undergo his medical after Chelsea agreed a two-year loan spell.

It’s believed the Spanish striker will earn €4m plus bonuses from Milan, plus another €2m per season from Chelsea, while the loan is set to be free.

There will also be an option for a third year at San Siro.

Meanwhile, at around the same time Milan are waiting for Van Ginkel to give his final response to the Rossoneri offer.

Chelsea are prepared to let him go on loan and will leave him off the Champions League squad, but the Dutchman is not convinced.

He has until midday Italian time to make up his mind, otherwise Milan will look elsewhere.
