Milan have reportedly put interest in Alessio Cerci on the backburner, prioritising now finding a replacement for Mario Balotelli.

The Rossoneri have been in talks with Torino over their 27-year-old Italy international for the best part of the summer, but they have struggled to agree on a price.

With Balotelli set to complete formalities on a €20m transfer to Liverpool today, the Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that the club’s focus has now shifted.

It is reported that Adriano Galliani has decided with Coach Pippo Inzaghi that sourcing a replacement central striker now takes priority over strengthening the forward line out wide.

Subsequently, it is seen that Milan’s pursuit of Cerci has been put to one side for the time being and that it will only be returned to ‘under certain conditions’ or further towards the end of the market.

The Diavolo are seen to have a long list of potential striking targets, headed by Jackson Martinez and Mattia Destro, and also including the likes of Radamel Falcao, Alvaro Negredo, Leandro Damiao, Fred and Fernando Torres.
