Podolski turned 29 this summer and only moved from FC Koln to Arsenal in July 2012 for £10m (€12m).

His versatility is believed to have impressed Coach Massimiliano Allegri, as he can play as a support striker or wide left in a trident attack.

Last season he scored 12 goals in 27 competitive games for Arsenal.
