Athletic’s Benat Etxebarria has described his side’s 1-1 draw with Napoli last night as a good result.

The Spanish side will now be marginal favourites heading into the second leg of the Champions League play-off tie against Rafa Benitez’s team, which takes place at their own San Mames stadium.

“The result is good,” Etxebarria told El Correo. “It was a match made up of individual moments.

“We should have scored and made it 2-0 but instead we were surprised during the second half.

“Now we are hoping we can do well at home. I am personally happier with the match played than the result.

“We need to start [the second leg] immediately with the intention of winning.”
