Benfica could report Juventus to FIFA for an illegal approach towards Luisao, according to Portuguese papers.

There had already been reports of Juve interest for the centre-back, who has a contract with Benfica until July 2017.

It was suggested they asked Luisao to find a way to terminate his contract by mutual consent so that he could join on a free transfer.

“There are no negotiations between us and Juventus,” declared Benfica President Luis Filipe Vieira.

“Luisao has three years left on his contract and therefore if Juventus want him, they have to contact us first.

“In his latest interview Luisao said he wanted to end his career here and that is what will happen.”

According to O Jogo, Benfica have also sent a formal warning to Juve headquarters making it clear they will report the club to FIFA if they persist in contacting Luisao.
