Giuseppe Rossi has pulled out of Fiorentina’s squad to face Real Madrid tomorrow after suffering a thigh injury in training.
The Italy international had been listed in Vincenzo Montella’s original selection to play the European champions in Warsaw on Saturday.
However, the Viola have issued a brief medical update on the striker and confirmed his withdrawal.
“Fiorentina announces that Giuseppe Rossi, during training yesterday, reported a tightening of the flexor muscle of the thigh,” the club have written.
“For this reason, the athlete will not be called up for the game in Warsaw, waiting to better quantify the extent of the injury with the appropriate diagnostic tests.”
