Rumours that Arturo Vidal will sign for Manchester United refuse to go away, with reports now that the Premier League side will double his wages.

The Chile international has been constantly linked with a switch to Old Trafford all summer long, with stories emanating that Louis Van Gaal was ready to offer Juve huge money to sign the midfielder.

Those were refuted by both parties, and Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri has since claimed that Vidal is a key member of his starting XI.

However, La Stampa have revealed this afternoon that the player’s agent has in fact agreed personal terms with United, with the former Bayer Leverkusen man set to earn €12m per season, should he go to England.

The paper may claim that terms have been agreed, but first the Red Devils have to negotiate with the Scudetto winners, which may now prove tricky such was the protracted nature of their first approach.
