Lotito: I’ve always wanted unity

Lazio President Claudio Lotito has once again issued a rallying cry to Biancocelesti fans to get behind the team this season.

The Stadio Olimpico chief was the target of protests by sections of support during the second half of last season, with ultras unhappy at his running of the club.

“We are doing all we can to put together a competitive team to get back into Europe without any problems,” Lotito is quoted as saying by Calcio News 24.

“We want to win and get back to the highest level, but it needs the efforts of everyone. That includes the fans, because the love we share should remain away from hostility.

“I am happy and I thank those fans who want to start again. I have always looked to build a feeling of unity.

“From 2004 I have given all of myself to Lazio, despite the criticism I have received, but recalling difficulties in the past will not take us anywhere now.”
