“We are so happy and our unity throughout the tournament was wonderful,” said Neuer after receiving the Golden Glove award as best goalkeeper.

“It is wonderful to win in Brazil. We have to congratulate Argentina, as they gave us a real battle today.

“I have always given my all for the team and the credit for this success goes to everybody. Now we must celebrate.”

Germany became the first European team ever to win a World Cup on South American soil and now have four stars on their shirts.
