Aurelio De Laurentiis has admitted that he is ‘optimistic’ about the new season, especially with Rafa Benitez in charge.
The Partenopei finished third in Serie A last time out, but did end up lifting the Coppa Italia in the Spanish Coach’s first campaign in charge.
And the team chief has affirmed his confidence in the former Liverpool boss.
“I’m confident because I know what Benitez does behind the scenes, on the training pitch.
“With Rafa in charge I sleep soundly.
“He is our strength. His organisation is what makes this team – and that’s what I admired most last time.
“But sometimes there are things that go against you. We have economic limits – but we have to respect the new financial rulings.
“But I can tell you that if we had the turnover of Juventus or Borussia Dortmund, we’d be challenging for every trophy going.”
