Lazio President Claudio Lotito has congratulated Miroslav Klose on his World Cup goalscoring record and described him as indestructible.
The German forward scored the second goal in Germany’s astonishing 7-1 semi-final win over Brazil last night, overtaking Ronaldo’s previous all-time haul of 15 in the process.
“I personally congratulate Miro Klose for having achieved the record as the all-time leading World Cup goalscorer, reaching 16 goals,” Lotito said in a statement.
“He is an indestructible player. I brought him to Lazio convinced I had signed a great professional and he has never disappointed.
“He deserves the success he has had. His loyalty has been important for international football and it’s the pride of our club.
“Over recent weeks there have been false reports that we might sell him. I repeat that Klose is not for sale and I am sure that next season he will give more joy to the Biancocelesti supporters.”
