It’s reported Genoa have agreed to take Alessandro Matri on loan from Milan, but Sime Vrsaljko remains in the balance.
The two clubs had been discussing an exchange deal, but SportMediaset and La Gazzetta dello Sport both claim the moves will now be separate.
Matri is due to join Genoa on a one-season loan, after he spent the last six months at Fiorentina, having failed to make an impact in the Rossoneri jersey.
The former Juventus striker hopes to rediscover his lost form, having scored only five Serie A goals last season.
It was a poor return for Milan’s €11m investment in Matri a year ago.
Meanwhile, negotiations will continue for Vrsaljko, Genoa’s 22-year-old Croatia international defender.
Sassuolo have also said they are interested in taking Vrsaljko this season.
Meanwhile, Bologna have officially signed goalkeeper Fernando Coppola from Milan.
