The centre-back has been seen in recent weeks at the subject of negotiations between the Isolani and Aquile and, whilst it was believed they were struggling over valuation, La Repubblica say a move has been agreed between the clubs, in principle.

However, amid supposed late interest from Manchester City, Astori’s intentions are still seen as unclear.

It is understood that Lazio are keen to hear from the player by Thursday, the day before their squad is due to report back for preseason.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport believe that Tommaso Giulini is angry with Lazio counterpart Claudio Lotito for his efforts during negotiations and would rather sell the player to Inter, who have also reportedly emerged recently as an interested party.

The Corriere dello Sport indicate that the 27-year-old wants to hear from the Nerazzurri, even as the Rome-based publication suggest Biancoceleste Coach Stefano Pioli has personally contacted him to try to convince him of a switch to the capital.
