The 20-year-old midfielder has already agreed a two-year loan deal worth €2m per season with an option to buy for €11m.
Ucan spoke to reporters at the airport in Istanbul today as he got on the flight towards Rome.
“I am going for a medical with Roma today. I’ll return with my signature on the contract.”
His plane is expected to touch down at around 17.00 UK time, so the tests will be either tonight or tomorrow morning.
