Chile’s Gary Medel confirmed he “is wanted in Italy and that is a good possibility” with Inter and Napoli linked.
The hard-working midfielder spent last season with Cardiff City, but is eager to move on after their relegation from the Premier League.
“I remain a player of Cardiff, but now doors are open to play elsewhere and I hope that happens,” Medel told papers in Chile.
“Nothing has been said yet, but I am wanted in Italy and that is a good possibility.”
Inter are leading the race to sign the 26-year-old, but face competition from Napoli as well as Celta Vigo, Valencia and Besiktas.
Medel is believed to be valued at around €11m - £8.4m – though he could also arrive on loan with option to buy.
