It has been announced that former Italy Coach Cesare Prandelli will take over as Galatasaray boss next Monday.

The ex-Fiorentina tactician only left his post with the Azzurri nine days ago, following their elimination from this summer’s World Cup.

This afternoon, the Istanbul club’s President Unal Aysal confirmed talks between the Turkish outfit and Prandell were at an advanced stage. In the last hour, he has said it is a done deal and that the 56-year-old will begin his new role at the start of next week.

“Prandelli brings together all the characteristics that we want in our Coach and from Monday he will be at the head of the team,” Aysal told Gala’s television station.

“I am convinced we can achieve great results with him. On Monday, the Cesare Prandelli era will begin.”

Prandelli is reported to have signed a three-year contract in Turkey, with wages of €4.5m a season.
