Mario ‘Il Falco’ Ferri struck again with a pitch invasion during Belgium-USA and a message for shot Napoli fan Ciro Esposito.

He had become famous for running on to the field during Serie A and Italy matches wearing a Superman shirt with the message: ‘Cassano in the Nazionale.’

Ferri raised the stakes by invading the 2010 World Cup semi-final in South Africa, complete with a vuvuzela.

He struck again this evening when evading security to reach the field in the Round of 16 tie between Belgium and USA in Salvador de Bahia.

This time he had two messages on his Superman shirt.

The first was calling for protection of the children in Brazil’s Favelas.

The second was the hashtag #CiroViveCiro Lives.

It was a reference to Ciro Esposito, the Napoli fan who died last week after he was shot by a Roma ultra on the day of the Coppa Italia Final.

That message will have been appreciated by Belgium midfielder Dries Mertens, who plays for Napoli.
