At yesterday’s League assembly attended by both Lotito and new Cagliari owner Giulini, the subject of the capital club’s interest in the 27-year-old came up, report the Corriere dello Sport.

Whilst new Coach Zdenek Zeman and Giulini are both seen as eager to keep hold of Astori, they are believed aware that keeping holding of the player will prove difficult.

It is believed that, having already initially talked over the phone, Giulini and Lotito yesterday discussed possible terms for the Italy capped defender.

Cagliari reportedly value Astori at no less than €7m and that whilst Lazio are apparently offering €5m, it is understood that an offer of €6m or more, with the inclusion of a player in part exchange, may sway the Isolani into accepting.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror suggest that Tottenham Hotspur are also monitoring Astori’s situation and are preparing a potential £9.75m bid, approximately €12.2m.
