Russia Coach Fabio Capello feels Italy prove “the high level of this World Cup,” but got into a row with a journalist.

His side was held to a 1-1 draw by South Korea in the opening game, so the pressure is on against Belgium today at 17.00 UK time.

“I have been surprised in this World Cup by the high level of every team. All the Coaches are good, the teams are well-prepared and there are no easy games,” said Capello in a Press conference.

“The confirmation comes from the problems that sides like Italy, Argentina, Brazil and other major nations have suffered so far.”

The Azzurri need a point against Uruguay to reach the next round, so Capello was asked for advice.

“They are in the running for the Round of 16. As an Italian, but certainly not as Coach of Russia, I wish them all the best. I hope we can both be in the next round.”

There was some real tension in the Press conference, as Capello vented his anger at a Russian journalist who accused the team of not saluting the fans after the South Korea draw.

“You are a liar,” snapped Capello. “I was in the centre circle at the end of the game and my players saluted the fans.

“Everyone in Russia knows you are lying. Tell the truth.”
