Portugal defender Fabio Coentrao could be out of the World Cup after picking up a thigh injury.
The Real Madrid full-back was stretchered off in the Seleccao’s 4-0 defeat to Germany on Monday.
And Spanish newspaper AS believe that the 26-year-old could well miss the rest of the tournament, with initial reports claiming that the injury may take four weeks to heal.
There has been no official confirmation from the Portugal team, but it is expected soon.
Hugo Almeida meanwhile, was also taken off in the game in Salvador yesterday, but his thigh strain is expected to see him back in 10 days’ time.
