Chile’s Arturo Vidal says it would be great to knock Spain out of the World Cup but that insists his side are in Brazil to win the tournament themselves.
The South Americans enjoyed a 3-1 win over Australia in their opening match of the campaign and know another victory against La Roja will all but eliminate their opponents.
Speaking to FIFA’s official website, Juventus’ Vidal also said he feels at 100 per cent physically despite playing only 60 minutes against the Aussies.
“The knee is responding very well, I am in great condition and I hope to start against Spain,” he said.
“I’m well, I’m at 100 per cent physically and I’m not thinking about my knee, but it will be up to the Coach Sampaoli whether I play or not.
“Spain are the world champions, they have quality. They have great players who will go out onto the pitch very angry. We hope to play well and take the three points.
“Eliminating Spain would be great, but we haven’t come here for that. We’ve come here to win the World Cup.”
