Reports in the Italian Press this afternoon claim that Alberto Aquilani has been the subject of an offer from Atalanta.
The Italy international is currently in Brazil with the Azzurri, preparing for the World Cup.
But his contract with Fiorentina is an issue that will not go away, with the midfielder’s deal in Tuscany set to expire in 2015.
La Nazione believe that the Viola are ready to accept offers for Aquilani, so they can bid for La Dea playmaker Giacoma Bonaventura.
As such, the paper insists that the Bergamo outfit could be willing to strike a deal with Vincenzo Montella’s men – asking for €9m plus Aquilani for their exciting young attacker.
It is thought that the former Liverpool man would prefer to stay at Stadio Artemio Franchi, and leave, potentially, on a free next summer.
