Brazilian legend Ronaldo believes that Italy have enough quality to win their group at the World Cup.

The Azzurri have been drawn in, according to FIFA world rankings, the toughest group at the tournament, alongside England, Uruguay and Costa Rica.

But the former Inter and Milan striker has insisted that Cesare Prandelli’s men are good enough to top the table.

“It’s true that it is one of the hardest groups, if not the hardest,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“But for me, they can win it. And then at that point, anything can happen.

“In the tradition of the World Cup, Italy have always been solid with defensive security and great tactical intelligence.

“At this tournament that could serve them very well.”

The current leading goalscorer at the World Cup then commented on Cesare Prandelli and Mario Balotelli.

“Prandelli is going to be important. He has something of the Gigi Simoni to him, when it comes to relationship he has with his players.

“And he also reminds me of Scolari – a great tactician.

“This is Mario’s big chance. Brazil is waiting for him – we love special players and he is one of them.”
